San Jose State's Spartan Stadium was the arena for a rib competition to benefit the Women's Softball team. Ms. Goofy and I were participants and winners today. The weather was pleasant and cool to provide perfect conditions for rib cooking, eating and competition We would like to share the festivities with you, so come take a gander at our rib filled festive day.
Twenty nine bbq teams signed up to do battle around the perimeter of Spartan Stadium. Music, bbq and an auction was the combination to entertain the Women's softball team supporters. Throughout the venue blue shirted team members volunteered to keep thing running smoothly. We had three softball players in the judging tent performing table captain duties.
There was a large raffle benefiting the Softball team. You would purchase tickets and deposit them in baskets adjacent to your desired prize. Ms. Goofy and I bought a long line of ticket opportunities. We wanted to support the team and also had our eye on a vacation prize.
We did several laps of the stadium visiting with our competitor friends. I was impressed with the various cookers and this high tech thermometer from Thermapen definitely caught my eye. It was remote and monitored food & bbq pit temperatures. I wanted to show Ms. Goofy this unit because Christmas is right around the corner. (Shameless fancy by author).
Congratulations to the bbq team" G & Pop's BBQ" for winning Grand Champion. Ms. Goofy and I were victorious ourselves with a raffle prize. We won a two night stay and show in beautiful Lake Tahoe. This was the icing on the cake to a fun filled day.
