MAD MEAT GENIUS

Can one have too many tools/gadgets? I do not think so. Here is my latest must have barbeque tool. It is a simple catfish skinner. These plain ordinary pliers will make the chore of removing the membrane from ribs a simple task. Where have you been all these years? The rib membrane can sometimes be slippery and stubborn to remove. In the past I have used a knife and towel and now realize how Neanderthal this method was.
The test was on some pork ribs. Easy as pie was the result of this wonderful contraption. Now I can rest easy knowing that removing the membrane will no longer be such a drama. Best invention since sliced bread. This will make a great stocking stuffer for your barbeque sweetie this Christmas.

I don't think I even knew you had to remove this membrane, which shows you how infrequently I cook ribs. Usually when I'm in that mood, we go out to eat.
That shows there more than one way to skin a rib!
Zoomie, Some people remove the membrane others not. The reason is to let rubs and marinades penetrate the meat with out the membrane barrier.
Chris, So true! I need to get sme catfish.
I use my needle nose pliers but that looks like a much better set up.
I love this toy. Where did you find yours?
Greg, These pliers have a larger blade for a better grip. I was a skeptic untill I tried it. I am sold.
cookiecrumb, If you are a good girl, I am sure Santa will bring you one. If you are naughty or just have the hardly can waits most bait and tackle shops have them.
I NEED that. The last 4 or 5 slabs of spares or loin ribs came out looking like a rabid, 3 legged beaver had been gnawing at the membrane. Using spoons, towels, pliers ... whatever the internet has to offer has failed me in the recent past. I'll sell a few thins and git me one.
Before you get too excited, take a look at the new Skinners that are on YouTube and EBay. Just search Catfish Skinners for the newest and best of the best. Grandpa Taylor's Original Catfish Skinners will out perform the stamped steel any day.
