MY WAY

It is Ms. Goofy's birthday this week and "The President of Cookies" (my sister) took my 'Master Judge' wife out to lunch. I was not invited. This poor meat craving soul needed some protein substance. A quick mini 'Meat Adventure' to Berkeley, California to 'The local Butcher Shop' resulted in some hamburger and bacon. A very special burger would be had for lunch. This is what the 'The Local Butcher Shop' has to say about themselves;

The Local Butcher Shop offers our community sustainably raised, local meat.  We only buy whole caracasses directly from local farmers and ranchers, all located within 150 miles of Berkeley.  All of our product is pasture raised - no antibiotics, no hormones - just pure, clean meat.  Because we buy whole carcasses, we are able to do custom cut butchery – however you want it, we can cut it!   All of our butchers are trained chefs who are happy to help you with cooking suggestions and recipes.  We also make our own sausages, pates, stocks, and sauces as well as a changing Sandwich of the Day!

This burger was a masterpiece. The bacon was a very special addition to this sandwich. A 'Bacon Revue' will follow shortly. I was not invited to lunch but I did it 'My Way'

You are a very resourceful guy. Congratulations on a fine sandwich.

Zoomie, This burger did not even taste like grass. It was very tasty.

W00t! You ate grass-fed? Good, right? *the world's axis shifts a bit*

cookiecrumb, Where have you been? I have had and enjoyed grass fed beef for some time now. I still think it is over rated, priced and worshiped. I have also had some grass fed that I would not even feed to Lucy. I still crave a corn fed rib-eye anyday.

Looks yummy. It is nice to have "me" time, isn't it? Have you ever tried corn fed and grass finished beef? I like the taste that it has. But, I am with you. Grass fed is overrated...

I've probably ased this before, but when is your wife's birthday? Mine was yesterday ... The brain is a little "fuzzy" this a.m. from last night's celebration. Every once in a while I'll splurge on grass fed at Whole Foods ... guess I feel healthier for eating it.

See .... proof about the fuzzy brain. "Asked" not ased.

I have a problem with the term "clean" food but that burger looks like a party.

Three Dogs BBQ, Is there any chance you mean corn finished? I have tried that. I cannot justify the high price when the product is inconsistent and sometimes downright nasty.

Lea Ann, Ms. Goofy's birthday is today. We are going out for a nice dinner tonight.
In some social circles in the Bay Area the correct word is AXED.

Happy birthday, Ms. Goofy!

Greg, Clean is code for expensive.

You were welcome to come along to the lunch. But then again I couldn't tell my Chilebrown as a wild and crazy youth stories. Sounds like you didn't suffer too much while we were gone.

I had it backward. So, you find it inconsistent?

Anyway, did you know that grass fed cattle are gassier?
